by 7:00 P.M. Central Daylight Time on Friday, June 15, 2018. The Committee will consider all applications and offer in – person interviews to the most qualified.

“Karen’s decision is a sad day for Illinois. Her leadership skills and her expertise in government will be difficult to replace,” said Kane County GOP Chairman Kenneth Shepro. “Our task now is to find a new nominee who will carry the banner of fiscal responsibility, and who will continue Karen’s advocacy to fight to stop human trafficking, to put an end to the toxic atmosphere in Springfield and to return Illinois to its heritage of greatness.”

All those who apply must be 21 years of age, and have been a resident of the 33rd Senate District for at least two years. An applicant must also meet all other qualifications as prescribed by the Constitution of the State of Illinois.

The Legislative Committee consists of the County Republican Chairmen in the 33rd Senate District: Kane County GOP Chairman Kenneth Shepro and McHenry County GOP Chairwoman Diane Evertsen. The Committee decision is based on weighted votes of the two members based upon votes cast in the two counties in the March primary.

Questions or inquiries may be directed to Chairman Shepro at (708) 471-4630 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

About the Western Kane County Republican Organization

Nine Kane County townships comprise the Western Kane GOP. They are (from north to south): Hampshire, Rutland, Burlington, Plato, Virgil, Kaneville, Blackberry, Big Rock, and Sugar Grove.

For a township to have its own organization, the Kane County Republican Party bylaws require there to be at least 10 precincts in the township.

The Western Township Republican Central Committee regularly meets at Blackberry Township Hall located at 43W390 Main Street Rd, Elburn, IL. Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm.  In the event a monthly meeting is scheduled elsewhere, that information will be updated on our website and shared with the County GOP website for its calendar as well.  All Precinct Committeemen will be notified of any change in location.

The WKCRO is one of the eight township organizations that make up the Kane County Republican Central Committee. The 102 Republican county organizations form the Illinois State Republican Party. The 50 state Republican parties together form the Republican National Committee.

Your Republican Precinct Committeeman is a voting member of the Kane County Republican Organization and they want to know your views, as your elected representatives, on matters of GOP party policy and priorities.
